Rachel has been writing stories since as long as she can remember. An obsession with Point Horror books led to her first novel being written at the age of ten. Truth be told, it wasn't very good.

The following years were spent writing, dreaming, reading thrillers, romantic comedies, fantasies, occasionally playing guitar, and dabbling in song writing.

Rachel was born and raised in Scotland. A graduate of psychology, she now resides in South Korea. She has dabbled in teaching children, but after a few blessed years has succumbed to teaching business English to adults in Seoul.

Sometimes you get more than you wished for. This is what happened to Abigail, tired of the boys mistreating her she wishes love upon the stars but she gets more than she was waiting for. What begins as a simple wish unveils family secrets, magical creatures, and dark curses.

Abigail is a sweet character, she sounds like an innocent teenager but with a strong personality. The rest of the characters are all great, some funnier than others. I like the mystery behind one of them, despite some of it was a bit predictable.

The whole book has an aura of innocence, it's simple and easy to read and the story is easy to understand. If you are looking for something light to read you should read this one.

I do have to say I was really angry at the end, I know it is supposed to be a series but please that was a huge cliffhanger, I was screaming at my e-reader.

Review: V-Day @dtdyllin

TITLE: V-Day
SERIES: M-Day #4
AUTHOR: D.T. Dyllin
RELEASE DATE: March 24th, 2016
PUBLISHER: Tilk Tok Press
FORMAT: Paperback & ebook
SOURCE: complimentary copy

The clock is ticking and only Vivienne Moore knows when things are set to implode. Knowledge can be power… or in Vivienne’s case, a burden. Since the fateful day that has come to be known as M-Day, she’s been frantically searching for her brothers. Only she knows the truth and will be able to save her family–if she can find them before the countdown hits zero.
But all is threatened when a man from Vivienne’s past interferes with things he doesn’t comprehend. Will she be forced to sacrifice a second chance at love to rescue her brothers? Or will she figure out a way to save everyone.

D.T. Dyllin is a bestselling author who writes both paranormal and contemporary romance. Anything with a love story is her kryptonite. Her obsession with affairs-of-the-heart is what first drove her to begin twisting her own tales of scorching romance.

D.T. was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Black & Gold for life, baby!) She now lives in Little Rock, Arkansas with her husband and two spoiled German Shepherds.

We finally came to the conclusion of this sexy series. V-Day is the book that has all the answers or most of them. Ater M-Day the world has not been the same and Vivienne knows why it all began. Litlle by little we get to witness scenes from her past and we know who was behind the virus that changed the world.

The book brings a good closure and it does not disappoint. Of course she the sister of two of our favorites characters and when she finally meets them, and the rest of the group, it feels like the circle is complete.

This time we lack some of the tension we had in the previous books I think that she and the man from her past jump quite fast in the 'relationship' or whatever you want to call it, but it's understandable as she says all the time this new world has different rules.

There are some scenes which are too hard and rough and they are the perfect example of the danger and adrenaline we had through all the series. Again, D.T. Dyllin wrote a great book to complete a fantastic series.

Love Connection is a feel good Romantic Comedy about one woman, life’s infinite possibilities, and the destiny that lies beyond two different choices.

Camilla was born in 1984. She's an engineer that has always had a vivid imagination and a more creative approach to life. After working in a corporate job for some years, she left everything to follow her husband around the world in a new adventure. Upon finding herself with loads of free time for the first time in a long while, she decided to begin pouring some of her fantasies into words...

It all begins with Gemma and two plane tickets, each one leads to a different story. Once she makes the choice a story unravels, and we get to read about the results of each choice. It was great to read these two stories inside one book. The book is fun, easy to read and quite entertaining.

Gemma is a sweet character, she is real, funny and loyal, and her search for real love is totally understandable. I enjoy seeing her in both stories because despite being the same, Gemma changes in each version of her story.

The book has all the ingredients of a good chick-lit, there is romance, tears and good doses of laughs. It won´t take you too much time to read it and you will enjoy it for sure.

He took a step toward her, closing the distance she’d put between them. “I don’t understand the problem,” he repeated.

“Look, Nate.” Pia began. Swallowed. Calm down, you idiot! He’s just a man. “I don’t want to sound rude, or appear ungrateful—”

“It’s okay. I’m used to it.”

Pia inwardly winced at his reference to their conflict six months ago, but she caught a hint of humor in his eyes. “I’m sorry. Truly. And I’m sorry about that last time I saw you as well. There’s just something about you that…” Pia broke off, searching for the right word.

Nate’s lip twitched. “Yeah. There’s something about you too.”

Pia glanced up, and their eyes held a moment. It was nice to think Nate might be just as confused about her as she was about him.

“I appreciate you coming, Nate. For getting me out of there.” She waved her hand in the direction of the station. “But I really want to go to Mark and the team.”

To the familiar. To where she could breathe and get her thoughts under control.

“They’ll be as worried about me as I am about them,” she added.

He eyed her, released a breath. “If that’s what you want.”

It was what she needed. “It is.”

“Then that’s where we’ll go.” He paused, then grinned. “You know, you’re still as frustrating as you always were.”

A smile kicked at the corners of her lips. “Likewise.”

Across the street, a young girl was watching them closely. Pia saw her out of the corner of her eye, but when she turned to look, the girl was no longer there.

She’d gotten only a glimpse of pale skin, a black vacant stare. But then she heard a familiar voice in her mind.

Why won’t you help me? Why won’t anyone help me?

Pia shivered.

It was the entity. And it seemed to have fixated on Pia. It was following her.

Who—or what—was Sarah? And what did she want?....

TITLE:  Daddy Dearest
AUTHOR: Paul Southern
RELEASE DATE: June 1st, 2016
PUBLISHER: Self-published

ADD TO GOODREADS

An estranged father’s weekend with his beloved five-year-old daughter turns into a nightmare when she gets into the lift of a city centre tower block and goes down without him. She vanishes without a trace. It sets off a race against time, and a nationwide manhunt, to find her. As the police investigation closes in, suspicion falls on those closest to her - with devastating consequences. Daddy Dearest is a terrifying story of love, obsession and psychological meltdown.'My daughter has always had a thing about lifts. There’s something about the thrill of pressing a button and seeing the lift doors close which excites her imagination. It terrifies me. Every time she walks in, I imagine it’s the last time I’ll see her. What if she hits the button before I get there? What if the lift doors close and I can’t get her out? It drives me nuts. There are eight floors in the Sears building, nine if you count the basement, and the lift is fast: more like a fairground ride, really. It does top to bottom in twelve seconds. I’ve timed it. Taking the stairs, I’ve done it in forty-two. That leaves a gap of thirty seconds. You’d be surprised what can happen in that time. I was.'

Following an induced labour some time in the 1960s (due date: Halloween night), I had my subscription to a normal life revoked by itinerant parents, who moved from city to city. Lived in Liverpool, Belfast, London and Leeds, then escaped to university, where I nearly died of a brain haemorrhage. After an unexpected recovery, formed an underground indie group (Sexus). Met the lead singer through standing on a bee. Made immediate plans to become rich and famous, but ended up in Manchester. Shared a house with mice, cockroaches, and slugs; shared the street with criminals. Five years later, hit the big time with a Warners record deal. Concerts at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Melody Maker front cover, Smash Hits Single of the Week, Radio 1 and EastEnders. Mixed with the reallyrich and famous. Then mixed with lawyers. Ended up back in Manchester, broke. Got a PhD in English (I am the world's leading authority on Tennyson's stage plays), then wrote my first novel, The Craze, based on my experiences of the Muslim community. Immediately nominated to the Arena X Club (the name Arena magazine gave to a select group of creative, UK-based men responsible for shaping the way their readers lived and enjoyed their lives). Wrote a second book, Brown Boys in Chocolate, which predicted the London bombings. Fell foul of the censors and subsequently gagged by the press. Got ITV interested in a story on honour killings and inter-racial marriages and was commissioned to write a screenplay (Pariah) based on my life story. ITV balked at the content. Subsequently, trod the Wasteland before finding the grail again: a book deal with children's publisher, Chicken House.Killing Sound, a YA horror set on the London Underground, was published by them in September 2014. The book, originally written for older teens (16+) and adults, was censoriously edited by the publishers to fit a much younger demographic, and inevitably failed to reach either market; the grail proved elusive and I returned to writing something it was impossible to dilute. Daddy Dearest, a dark, psychological thriller, will be released in 2016.

Wow, if I had to describe the book in just one word I would say: FASCINATING!
¨Daddy Dearest¨ felt like watching a movie, a very good suspense film where every new chapter brought a different surprise. You keep reading and reading, waiting for the outcome and you never see what´s coming.

Paul wrote an excellent book where every detail of the plot is well thought. The father´s personality is solid and believable and you get into his head to discovered an underworld beneath the real world. Every character provides something to the story and each one has a past, which makes it more complete.

I don´t want to say much about the story because I would be ruining it for you. If psychological thriller is something you enjoy, you MUST read this book.

She has a secret ─ she can glimpse into the future of those she loves. For her it’s not a blessing, but a curse; every life she touches is thrown into turmoil, friends abandon her, and she is overwhelmed by more guilt than she can bear. Then, one day, she sees her own unhappy fate.
Does Akshara bring upon her loved ones the misfortunes they blame her for? Will Akshara be able to save herself after she has lost everyone she loved? Or will she lose her sanity like her mother did?
A gripping, evocative, and sometimes surreal page-turner, He Knew a Firefly follows Akshara as she tries to light the dark, unknown pathways for her loved ones, before being ultimately consumed by the flames herself.

A nerd, feminist and lover of all things quirky, Smita is an award winning short story writer based out of Mumbai. Potent coffee and a good book makes her day. Planning for that one big, decadent trip to a new country, makes her year. She considers herself the sum total of all the places she has been to, like a Lego puzzle being set up, one journey at a time.

Smita cares deeply for women’s issues and her writing usually reflects strong, central female characters. She’s also a fan of page turning intrigue, a genre she calls emotional thrillers and her books reflect that obsession. She has one novella out in the reading world, another full length novel ready to launch and plenty more floating in the dark recesses where they came from.

This is one those books that you want them to be good but somehow it fails. ¨He Knew a Firefly¨ has an amazing blurb and a fantastic start. The first chapters grab you and fill you with expectations of a great story. However, somewhere along the lines, the book didn´t make it for me.

Akshara has this awful gift and it affects the whole story. I liked the idea but the different changes of POV and scenarios confused me a bit and sometimes they made me lose the atmosphere I was getting into.

Overall, I could finish the book because it got interesting for moments and the writing is good.
